If you think my question is unecessary do ignore. I like to do DIY projects. My project right now is to make a powerbank out of old Li-ion batteries. I have two powerbank circuit board. Board A is much more simpler with a visible lode (L1) and 8 pin chip. I cant be specific in this since i attached it i can properly see it right now. Board A is doing fine been using for weeks. One notable problem is that the 4 LED in the board indicates 3 lights on but when i plug my phone it turns to 2 lights on it bothered me. Back when i was testing Board A Lode (L1) produces heat a lot it bothered me too. Now for Board B. it has 2 LED. red for charging input. blue for charging output. Im testing this board right now and it produces more heat even the usb port is heating up. so i had done a elimination process to check what produces the heat. Results are SS14 Chip and Lode(L1) are the cause of the heat. but it is charging the blue LED is shining brightly. |

Give us a chance! What make of powerbank board? Does it have a charging function matched to the battery? Does it use smps to get up to 5V? Beware, Li-ion batteries explode if you take liberties. Always use a charger protocol matched to the battery size. |
