zener transsistor circuit load question

I need to step down a rectified +/-35V DC to 17-18 volts to safely power a LM317/337 power supply at 15V DC. I need to put in a current load in series with Rout+ and Rout- of 250 mA but can't find the symbol. When working properly the voltage across Rout+/Rout- should be 1 volt.
