Hi, I have been trying to use a transformer in a simulation, but they never seem to work! I have looked at some public transformers and also cannot find one that actually "transforms"...HELP! Thanks, Alex |

Show us your circuit and perhaps we can see something. I whipped up a very simple transformer circuit and it works fine. |

Thanks, Foxx; your circuit indeed transforms! I have made 2 circuits public, vf4 which is my "driver" circuit and vvf6 with a transformer added in. Initially I copied your circuit parameters, and then I made my own, but neither get the output you do with yours....can you see any errors on mine? thanks! |

You will have to give the URL address for anyone to see your public circuits. That's the line in blue starting with "https" in my reply above. |

You're putting half wave dc into the transformer primary and transformers don't work as expected on dc. |

That's true, but I have built this circuit in reality and it does a very unexpected thing! I am modeling it in hopes of finding out how it DOES what it does...but I may have been too optimistic. The finished circuit turns 60 Hz into 30 Hz to ring telephone bells. I am making the full circuit public for you. I have coil winder I use to make the transformers. |

So I have revealed the finished circuit and it appears to be working...doing something...I will have to study the output now to see if it is what my scope shows as well! Thanks for your help and keeping me from giving up! vfffull https://www.circuitlab.com/user/alexbell2/ |
