In this circuit C4 smooths the voltage, as is to be expected but in this, it does nothing at all Shouldn't they work identically? Can someone please hit me over the head with an explanation for this? |

In the second circuit, the bottom end of C4 is not connected to the terminal of the transformer. Move C4 one grid square to the right and all's well. :) |

Thanks a bundle. :-) Now that's a catch. Maybe the programmer should take care of this not-to-obvious-trap - and if they are at it, they might as well include something which makes the other error I made recently (putting one component over another) transparent. Way to go ;-) E.g. one could use dots if there really is a connection, y' know just like 'em crazy Germans do http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/de/8/85/Schaltsymbole_mit_Namen.png (cf. "Leiterverbindung") ;-) I herewith order this by special command of the Führer! >;-> |

Myself as well as other have requested dots repeatedly in the past as IMHO it makes the schematic easier to read and - as the above example shows very clearly - less error prone. I just hope this will get implemented soon (to accommodate different preferences it could be made a user-selectable option). |
