I have a linear regulator setup, to charge my phone in my car. I have used this setup before with 8AA batteries to charge my iPhone with no problems. Now, my android says it is charging, but discharges rapidly. Any suggestions? |

Keep in mind that different cars set their cigarette lighter outlets differently. Some stay on even when the engine is turned off. Don't assume there is diode protection on the outlet so if your phone is higher than the battery charge, your phone will charge your car battery! Also, a battery's voltage will increase as the engine is left running. If you can find an adapter with diode protection, that might solve your problem. |
