Hi i am working on AA battery charger design and i am new to the electronics. Could anyone give me any ideas about how to design a AA battery indicator circuit. (When one AA battery is being charged, the Red Led is on; when the battery is fully charged, the Red LED is off and the Green LED is on). Thanks a lot. |

Welcome to CL. You need to do some reading ... Google is your friend here. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nickel%E2%80%93metal_hydride_battery http://cds./docs/en/datasheet/4060f.pdf http://cds./docs/en/design-note/dn380f.pdf :) |

@signality Thanks a lot. I learnt a lot form the reading. I guess i am going to use one of the IC to build the circuit. I have a question: I am trying to build a solar powered AA battery charger. That means the voltage source will be DC. Is LTC4060 all right to be used in my design? |

Look at the silicon vendor's websites for parts, datasheets and apps notes. Lots of info around there on solar NiMh and Li-ion battery charging. https://www.circuitlab.com/forums/power-electronics/topic/36943bw9/solar-usb-charger/#comment_2393 https://www.circuitlab.com/forums/support/topic/avdmc37k/newbie-i-need-of-help/#comment_4211 |
