Single fire circuit doesn't work

(Sorry if my title makes no sense, this is honestly my first serious attempt at electronics)

I'm trying to create a circuit where if my highbeam light is turned on (on my motorbike) it switches on my garage door opener (which I've stripped down, and if a circuit is completed it fires), however since I don't want it to spam my garage key (since highbeams stay on for a while) there's a capacitor in the circuit.

This is my attempt, any help is more than appreciated. Cheers

A bit more complex than your circuit but this would work:

This makes a relay redundant but you could replace the 2N7002 with a relay coil to ground but it would have to draw less than the permitted output high source current of the 555 timer you use.

Alternatively, put the relay coil from the 2N7002 drain to keybatt.
