How to unlatch a door based on a digital clock reading?

What type of components would I need for the following: I need a small door (1 inch by 1 inch) to be able to slide open if a digital clock reads past 12:00. Otherwide the door cannot be slid open. I think I would need a timer of some sort, and a switch, but how can I get the door to operate?
Thanks so much!

Thanks very much...I'll look into it.

Do you think muscle wire would work? I found some muscle wire springs that require 3 amps. Do you think this is a high current for this small circuit application?

Don't know anything about it.

3A for how long and at what voltage?

i.e. what charge and power?

I haven't started the design, and its been a long time since I've done this. The muscle wire is not what's needed, the small solenoid actuator is the answer. The components in the circuit are: a digitl clock whose time can be read by the circuit and maybe set, a button that can be pressed. When it is pressed, the time will be checked, and the actuator energized if the clock reads a certain time. When the actuator is energized, a plastic door can be slid open. I don't know what the Vcc would be or what other components would be needed. Can you give me some suggestions? I really appreciate your help so far. Is there a kit that would help me fill in the blanks of what I need? Many thanks!

Suggest you do more Googling ...

Thanks, that's a good idea!
