when putting together a marx generator i realized there was no way to sim it so i gave up. i love doin HV stuff in the sim to see what voltages can be achieved so spark gap with a distance parameter and dielectric type parameter would be helpful. it was suggested to use avalanche diodes for these projects so i can see why the would be nice to have too, albiet i dont kno much about them. |

Here are some spark gaps I prepared earlier ... https://www.circuitlab.com/circuit/j4jd9v/spark-gap-01/ doesn't sim in CL but is helpful to understand the one that does: https://www.circuitlab.com/circuit/s4ed27/spark-gap-02/ Some info about use of avalanche transistors in Marx Banks: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marx_generator :) |
