Reverse polarity protection with a PMOS.
Note that the source pin of the PMOS is exceptionally NOT connected toward the power source, as usually done, but toward the load.
The square wave is used to show the behavior of the right connection (positive voltage) and the wrong connection (negative voltage) to the load.
The advantage over a diode is that the lost of voltage is minimal AND so, the lost of POWER, power to be dissipated by the diode when the connection is "right".
