Summary

An simple example of compensating a capacitively loaded opamp.

Simulate > Time Domain > Run Time-Domain Simulation.

Description

A simple demonstration of the effects of capacitive loading on a voltage feedback opamp.

Both transient and AC analyses can be run to compare the behaviour of the uncompensated and the compensated circuits.

The compensation scheme used is based on the section on "In-loop compensation" from:

http://www.analog.com/library/analogDialogue/archives/31-2/appleng.html

This is my first real use of CircuitLab and for this sort of demonstration circuit, it looks to be a very useful tool.

It would be nice to be able to see the expressions in the circuit diagram without having to double click on the components but maybe that will be introduced later, together with more advanced parameter sweeping or stepping options and a wider range of functions, such as the incredibly useful TANH(), and LIMIT() and then proper behavioural sources (like the SPICE B source) to use them in ...

:)
