An LM317-based voltage regulator to provide 12V @ 1A.
An LM317 voltage regulator is configured to provide 12V @ 1A load. The associated time-domain simulation shows plots of the AC line voltage, the regulated and unregulated voltages and the current through the load resistor. An auxiliary circuit is employed to examine the no-load to full-load characteristics of the regulator. A reference to the Texas Instruments data sheet is provided for additional design and performance information.
