Flipflop , automatic capacitor charge and shoot a projectile
This is a circuit that I build using a flip flop . When a push switch is pressed momentarily , the flip-flop goes into set mode and a reservoir capacitor starts charging. When the cap reaches almost Vcc then the circuit flips back and the capacitor is discharged instantly through a coil which shoots out a small cylindrical ferromagnetic projectile . The Ir diode and Ir sensor sit at the opening of the tube and shut down the discharge transistor when the projectile reaches midway of the coil.
