Optocoupler half-duplex

Using 2 LEDs to make an optocoupler. High brightness red LEDs have useful photoelectric responses which enable bi-directional half-duplex operation.

High brightness narrow beam, 15cd, red LEDs: CREE C503B series.

With Tx diode at 20mA, the Rx diode produces at least 20uA short circuit, CTR = 0.001.

Reverse direction incomplete.
