This circuit is used to interface two 555. The first 555 act as a low frequency clock, then its square output is passed to the converter. Every rising front of the clock will be converted into a negative trigger. That trigger is then sent to the second 555 which is in monostable mode to give at its output a pulse of 10us.
This is a part of a sample and hold that Im designing for a modular synthesizer.
