A public address system has two inputs, one from a car radio/CD player, and one from a microphone. To make announcements, the radio/CD player has to be muted, the announcement made, and then the radio/CD has to be un-muted.
This was done manually. I was asked to implement a circuit to do this automatically. The prototype has worked and I am now making six copies.
