LED goes from green to off when battery drops below preset point. Transition is made within 1-2v, point adjustable with R3, designed to transition near 7v.
Green LED stays lit until battery voltage drops to the adjusted level. Transition between 1.5mA and 0.1mA on the LED is about 2v on the battery at 9 down to 7 volts. Current draw is 4-5mA.
